Traveling Thoughts

I woke up one morning a few days before a business trip I was taking in Dec and said to myself, I need a Pokémon game for my DS. It was something about the grey gloomy weather outside that had reminded me of the days I spent in highschool playing through the Pokémon Red and Blue games. The playability on those games just never ceased, it was impossible to get all the Pokémon for whichever version I was playing in one run through, I had to keep playing in order to catch them all. In fact, I can still remember the commercial, the link cable and the Pokémon jumping on it and running between the buildings and the guy looking up from the ground…That was so long ago it seems, I was in highschool, a junior in highschool when Pokémon entered the world.

I played through Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold, and Crystal and then I sold the games and never returned to Pokémon because I was tired of having to do the same thing on several game cartridges just to catch ‘em all.

I was sucked into the whole Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue because I was like, cool, I can play as the Pokémon but that turned out to be a huge disappointment. So, the night before I left town for my business trip, I ran to my local GameStop and I bought Pokémon Pearl (because my coworkers son had Pokémon Diamond) and I’ve played a good 20 hours of it and I have 3 badges and have seen all of like 51 Pokémon and I have 27 Pokémon (I try to catch them as I see them).

So, that is the secret for this Tuesday, my well kept secret, I’m 26 and I play Pokémon (but no one can really blame me, because it’s one of the few games that has infinite playability, seriously, you get into a Pokémon and you will not surface for weeks if you try to get everything and talk to everyone and catch all the Pokémon…even though it’s so childish, it keeps me fairly entertained and involved…not many other games can do that for weeks/months on end)
