Missing Mom

Filed Under: Letters | Tuesday, 01 April 2008

Dear Mom,

You’re away right now, probably sitting outside the RV enjoying a glass of wine in your metal goblets talking with Dad and your friends or playing cards or something of the sort. You might even be going for a walk as the weather was nice today and the temperature probably isn’t too cool where you are.

Me, I’m sitting at home wondering who I’m going to tell about my work day, with you and Dad gone, and you even have taken my dog, I have no one to tell about my insane day, the bird, she just yells at me, won’t even take a breath while she’s doing it. If you come home and she’s dead, I had nothing to do with it, I swear.

I’ll save the mundane stuff for another day, what you should know is that when I was whining that I wasn’t going to meet my goals because I wasn’t obtaining projects in any kind of manner and the boss man said “if you don’t meet your goal it’s my fault not yours because I didn’t get a project to you” (which I think is crap, they’re my goals and regardless of the boss mans ableness to give me projects I should be able to meet my goals); it was all for nothing. All that whining.

The projects that I had been working on (that I got told wouldn’t meet my goals because they were already completed when I got the new boss man) count towards my goals, so when it comes to my review in 6 weeks, I’m set to go. In fact, I was so well in line with meeting my goals that he added a couple subsets to the already existing ones. But I can handle them, one will be done next week and the other possibly before then.

So I went into my meeting freaking out, and I came out elated. I wasn’t as bad off as I thought.

I hope you’re having fun, wherever you are as it has just dawned on me that I have no clue where you are. You’ll be thrilled to know that as of yet I have not burned down the house (as cereal and milk doesn’t require me to cook).

Give Princess Paisley Pudge Muffin and Doodle Bug hugs for me, tell Dad I love him.

Love, Courtney
